If you google “the night shift project,” www.thenightshiftproject.com comes up first.

We’ve arrived! Just a week ago, it didn’t even make the Google search. Of course, you have to search it in quotes, but, hey, we’re on our way. Searching it without quotes, we are on the 78th result.

And we’re getting there on the goal of 50 new visitors before the launch date. We have 20 new visitors as of today, so the 30 of you out there that have as of yet to visit the site, go!

First press releases out

My first press releases are out the door – er, rather, through the e-mail.

My wonderfully brilliant friend, Kat, had the idea to send a few out to the papers of the universities I’ve attended. Done and done. Here’s hoping I here something soon.

The remainder of the press releases will go out when the main page story is ready to go. Just need a few more sources for that. The phone calls have been placed, but with the holidays, most of the sources were on vacation. But it should be ready before I know it.

The launch date for The Night Shift Project is set for mid-January. But before that date, I’d like to see 50 “unique” visitors to the site to drum up interest in the project. By “unique,” I mean new visitors who have not visited before.

Why is it so important to have these visitors? These visitors can bring others to the project once it’s been launched. If we can get 50 unique visitors and we can get even half of them to come back, that’s a start. Then, if we can get those 25 to tell their friends, well, the project will take off.

The press releases for The Night Shift Project are ready to go and sitting on my desktop, with the recipients’ list also finished. It’s amazing when my crazy ideas become reality.

I dreamed up The Night Shift Project a few years ago, and now it has its own Web site: www.thenightshiftproject.com. Furthermore, it has an editor, and a possible photographer.

Today I called for an interview for the introduction story to the project, which I hope to have posted by the new year. It’s a little nerve-wracking getting back into the swing of things, but I’m doing it…

A big project in the works; seeking a photographer

There’s a big project in the works. Look for more news about it here soon.

In the meantime, I’m looking for a photographer to work with me on the project. Photos should be creative and candid. The photographer must live in the Ohio area. Because the project is self-funded, the photographer will be volunteering for the project, though I will provide meals and transportation. If interested, e-mail me with samples of your work.

I decided to make this site my portfolio and to move my freelance publishing to a new site: featurefreelance.wordpress.com. Thus, the title of this site changed, as did a few other things. The portfolio pieces will remain here.
